Best result of ayurvedic medicine in Alcoholic Liver Disease

The first information which was found for that Liver patient

On the morning of 7th October 2017, my doctor friend’s call came to me, “Dr Hemang, There is a case of an alcoholic cirrhosis of liver, liver transplantation has been advised by allopathic doctors, Can Ayurvedic medicines help in such alcoholic liver disease ?” I have seen many such case while my fellowship under my experienced teacher and doctor of ayurveda, and they all were being healed, so I told my friend just – “Yes”. After getting little bit of other information I found that the patient’s bilirubin was 21.99 mg/dl, and he was bedridden, and could not afford to travel a little too.

The patient’s condition at that time.

I asked the patient’s relatives to come and meet with all recent medical reports.
On that same day in the evening on 7^th October 2017, the patient’s relative met me with all of their past medical reports.

According to the information provided by the relatives of patient and recent photographs, the situation of the patient of that time was as follows. His eyes were dark yellowish, his stomach grew due to ascites, having swollen feet, and the rest of the body dried up. Apart from this, the patient complains of fever, feeling loss of appetite, irritation and mild itching on the whole body, felt extremely discomfort, going a little bit forgetfulness and yellow colored & less quantity urination.

Their medical reports condition were

CBC – Hb – 9.5 gm%, WBC – 17,290/mql Platelets – 1,56,000/cumm;

Liver Function Test: – S. Bilirubin – 21.99 mg/dl (Normal 1.0mg/dl), Direct – 11.57 mg/dl, Indirect – 10.42 mg/dl SGPT – 11, SGOT – 91; S. Creatinine – 3.93 mg/dl (Above reports are taken on dated 23/09/2017)

USG Abdomen (on dated 15/07/2017) – Radiological changes of liver parenchymal disease with gross ascites (> 5 litres). Mild bilateral pleural effusion. Patient’s relative gave history that the patient was consuming alcohol from last 6 -7 years and the symptoms appeared over the last 3-4 months. The patient originally resided from a small village near Rajkot. So they went to Rajkot’s nominated big hospital for treatment, where they started some allopathic medicines at the primary stage and even tapping for huge ascites. They were advised to go for liver transplantation. Then he came to a nominated hospital in Ahmedabad for special treatment and did dialysis twice. In between, In this case they got a reference of “Ayurbhav” ayurved and Panchkarma hospital, Ahmedabad, by our friend Dr Harshal Thesiya, from Rajkot.

How serious was that Liver patient?

After looking at all the situations in the above-mentioned condition; at Ayurbhav, we informed patient’s relatives about the severity of the disease and patient’s condition in detail. Indeed that was a serious condition of alcoholic liver disease.

What does Ayurveda says for Liver Disease Patient?

Let’s now understand a little from Ayurveda.

In Ayurveda, this medical condition is been described as such disease named Kāmalā and Jalōdar, which occurred due to distortion of the three main doshā and specific Pittā dosha. Our ayurveda principals explain these condition in detail as its aetiology, pathogenesis, signs & symptoms, prognosis and the complete treatment with the proper strict diet.

About Ayurveda Doctor

After completing my Ayurveda doctorate degree of 5½ years, further I started my 3 years of fellowship under a well-known ayurvedic doctor. During that time, I could get the direct observation and detailing of perfect line of treatment through ayurvedic medicines over such kind of alcoholic liver disease patients, and also got the precious knowledge and experiences of my ayurvedic guru.

What was Ayurvedic Medicines for that Liver Disease Patient?

In such a serious condition, we give elixir Ayurveda medicines; but not only medicines but also the role of strict diet and proper life style are very important. We gave a detailed information of the patient’s diet, what should be followed in life style and the way how ayurvedic medicines should be taken. And adviced them to follow the same for 15 days. And told that we will continue our ayurvedic medicine only by when we get the some result within only 15 days.

Results within 10 days under Ayurvedic Medicines

After 10 days,The patient’s relatives called me and said “The patient’s condition is being improved, please send the ayurvedic medicines for next 1 month.”In addition they said that within 10 days, pedal oedema had gone down, and stomach also appears to be in normal condition. Also the doctor from their village checked his general condition and that was good and normal. Yes..!!!Ayurvedic medicines has been started its magical effect on alcoholic liver disease.

Ayurvedic medicines were sent for 1 month and advised them to follow the same as directed previously.

Best Results in Liver Function Tests within 1 month

On the dated 10^th of November 2017, after completing the 1 month of ayurvedic treatment, we advised them to check the liver function test and other blood reports. We found noticeable improvement in bilirubin reports. S.Bilirubin decrease to 2.77 mg/dl from its previous value of 21.99 mg/dl.
The rest of the reports were as follows (Photographs of those reports are attached in the end of this article) Another 1 month of medicines has been sent.

After completing 2.5 months with ayurvedic medicines,

On the dated 26^th of December of 2017 those all medical reports was made again, and at this time S.Bilirubin became normal as that was 0.64 mg/dl. As well as the rest of the medical reports were also normal, there was very little ascites fluid showed in the ultrasonography report. Besides this, the patient now had no such apparent symptoms as before, the yellowness of eyelid also went away, and at this time, he was doing his own daily work independently.

At present…

While this article is writing down, patient condition is better & healthy, ayurvedic medicines are still going on, which will be continuous at least for 6 to 9 months, according to Ayurveda. These seems that ayurvedic medicines give the best result on such type of alcoholic liver disease.
