Nature, Religion, Ayurveda, Science; The Wonderful combination.
The atmosphere around us is a precious gift given by nature. Air, water, food, and climate are the basic needs of life. However, this climate and its surroundings make some effect on our health. Our Ancient Acharya knew very well about this. And that’s why some customs and the way of celebration combined with religion and festivals which can make these effects of seasons and the atmosphere less as possible.
Ayurveda is a science of life.
Let us now understand our question from Ayurveda.
Our body is made up of three main Dosha Vata, Pitta, Kapha.
Our eating habits, Life style, the climate of where we live, and the seasons all as combine affect on our bodies and Dosha.
Let’s understand only the effects of the seasons.
According to Ayurveda, “autumn season” is considered to be the last 2 months of Indian calander. During this period, Pitta Dosha is aggravated in our body. Because of this, during this time our body is more affected many diseases. Feeling more heat in body, diseases like flu, skin disorder, Urine infections, Hyper acidity such kind of disease are very common. Also society suffer from Malaria, Dengue, Chikungunya, like fevers.
This is why in Ayurveda this season is considered to be the mother of diseases.
Thus, the root cause of these diseases in the season is the increase of Pitta dosha in our body. So if we can reduce the Pitta dosha through our diet, we can get protection from such kind diseases.
Due to this, our Rishis have included the milk diet in our religion and festivals through we lesser the Pitta dosha.
According to Ayurveda, the quality of cows milk is that it reduce the Pitta dosha specific. The nature of milk is cool, and sweet, also strengthen the body. Cow milk specifically raise inner strength which called “Ojus” in ayurveda.
Also in ayurveda says..
प्रवरं जीवनियानां क्षीरमुक्तं रसायनम। – चरक संहिता
means cow milk is best in vitality and elixir product.
also rice, and rock sugar also having quality to decrease Pitta dosha.
The coolest rays of Full moon on the of Sharad Purnima effect over pudding and milk which increases the chances of lowering the Pitta dosha.
Thus, during the night of special Poonam, when we celebrate this festival under coolest rays of moon and take such kheer and milk reduces our body heat, decreases the Pitta dosha and also fear of many diseases.
Not only these but our Rushi give us the way of life style in whole autum season. In the beginning of the autumn season, in the month of Bhadra, milk and pudding in the Shraddh karma pair together with religious rituals and brought in our main food. After this milk and pudding are attached to the Navaratri and Sharad Purnima. Thus, in the full autumn season, milk has been included in the food for the purpose of decreasing the Pitta dosha.
In Ayurveda, the special Panchakarma has asked to purify the body in this season, and so through that the complete root therapy is done for specific Pitta dosha and the body will remain good throughout whole year.
Detailed information about Panchkarma is also available here.
But today, on the day of Sharad Parmima, the amount of milk decreases, and the increase in the number of fast food is also decreasing the quality of everyone’s health.
Let us aware our society with this knowledge of this wonderfull coordination of our nature, religion, Ayurveda, and science by giving this information to everyone.
